Support our Impact Campaign: A Galvanizing Tool at a Critical Time

We’re using four main pathways for the film’s Impact Campaign:

1

Leverage our film festival and theatrical screenings for maximum local impact

  • We make screenings accessible to the trans community, particularly trans youth, their families, and allies by providing free tickets and doing direct outreach.

  • We feature speakers post-screening Q&As so audiences learn how this fight is unfolding in their city and how they can support organizers directly.

  • We pay all speakers an honorarium and, wherever possible, build ongoing relationships for future community screenings.

  • We tailor our call to action for each city to support local campaigns and initiatives.

Funding Would Support:

  • Purchasing blocks of tickets that can then be donated to local LGBTQ, trans-specific, and allied organizations so their members can attend screenings for free.

  • Continuing to offer honorariums to trans speakers and moderators, and cover transportation when venues are not easily accessible.

2

Organize at the state level to help block harmful legislation and re-educate policy makers

  • Harmful, anti-trans bills are advancing in every state. Texas alone has introduced 130, criminalizing every aspect of trans identity and states are averaging about 14.

  • We are currently planning to collaborate with partners for statewide screening tours and events. The first confirmed stop:Arkansas, October 2025.

  • Each screening will focus on local and statewide campaigns, targeting policymakers and their staff, district constituents, college students, school boards, and others.

  • Every screening will have strategic goals and calls to action, developed in collaboration with community partners and organizers.

Funding Would Support:

  • Covering the costs for the events: paying for space rental, equipment, food, interpretation (if needed), outreach materials, honorariums for speakers.

  • Contributing stipends for our local organizing partners for their time and work.

  • The aim will be to make these collaborations resource-additive for partners (events can become fundraisers, outreach opportunities, meet strategic goals, etc.), so as not to drain from their organizing reserves at this critical time.

3

Build solidarity by connecting our struggles across issues, identity, and isolation

  • We’re planning a series of National Conversations featuring high-profile leaders from various movements in direct dialogue with prominent trans voices. These conversations will explore shared struggles and opportunities for coalition-building, while generating press, video clips, and quotes to cross-promote across our distinct audiences and broaden support for all.

  • The first confirmed event in the series will focus on bodily autonomy, linking attacks on reproductive rights to trans healthcare. It will take place on Nov 6, 2025, at the Ford Foundation in NYC, and feature Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson in conversation with the film’s Executive Producer and trailblazing trans activist, Laverne Cox.

  • In development are dialogues connecting trans rights to attacks on DEI, public education, civil liberties, and the rise in authoritarianism.

Funding Would Support:

  • Event costs themselves (space rental, refreshments, documentation, etc).

  • Promotional costs for the events and then amplification once videos and other materials are available.

  • Speaker fees.

4

Increase broad awareness and encourage a critical eye

  • Secure broad press and media coverage around the film to challenge harmful mainstream narratives about trans people, especially trans youth.

  • Screen the film in colleges and universities, for medical practitioners, lawyers and law students, journalists and journalism students, and others outside the existing base of trans support.

  • Create accessible screening guides, resources, and materials to accompany the film and encourage a critical lens when engaging with mainstream coverage of trans people and issues.

  • Have a robust and engaging social media presence to reach new audiences and amplify both the struggles and the organizing happening on this and related issues.

Funding Would Support:

  • PR teams, social media creation, and buying ads.

  • Outreach to colleges and institutions.

  • Production of dynamic and informative materials to accompany the film.
