JOIN OUR IMPACT CAMPAIGN

Use our festival and theatrical screenings to build our movement

The film is screening in dozens of festivals around the world, and has a limited theatrical release starting in July.

  • We are featuring local speakers for post-screening Q&As who can speak to how this fight is playing out in their communities.

  • We are making a “call to action” with festival audiences to move forward local campaigns and initiatives.

Increase awareness about the impact of the SCOTUS decision

On June 18, SCOTUS released their opinion to uphold the ban on healthcare in Tennessee. Many people including members of the LGBTQ community are still unaware of the ramifications of this decision. To raise awareness:

  • We are using media coverage for the film as a direct intervention on the toxic narratives surrounding this case and gender-affirming care for youth.

  • We are screening the film in colleges and universities, for medical practitioners, legal professionals,  journalists, and others.

  • We are making accessible discussion guides to accompany the film.

  • We are using social media to reach new audiences and use our platform to amplify the organizing happening on this and related issues.

Support local partners to block harmful legislation

Currently, there are hundreds of anti-trans bills making their way through state legislatures in every single state in this country! We are using the film as a tool of support to fight these local attacks by:

  • Focusing on states that have organizations on the ground who are urgently trying to educate policy makers and constituents.

  • Targeting school boards and other hyper-local governance structures.

  • Helping organizations craft “calls to action” that follow each screening, which serve their local campaign and goals and then make these accessible to the broader public through our website.

Build cross-issue solidarity

Attacks on trans bodies and lives will have ramifications for the rights of everyone. One way we fight back is by connecting our struggles across “issues” and isolation. We are in an unprecedented moment in this country where the political attacks are simultaneous, and cut across age, race, immigration status, gender, sexuality, religion, and more, with the opportunity for solidarity both clear and profound. To build coalitions, we are:

  • Planning a series of “National Conversations” with high-profile leaders across various movements, positioning them in direct dialogue with prominent figures in the trans community.

  • The first of these will take place in the Fall of 2025, featuring the President of Planned Parenthood in dialogue with the film’s Executive Producer, Laverne Cox.
